Valerie Desroches is a first-generation Haitian American who was born in Brooklyn, New York. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and her Master Degree in Applied Behavioral Science from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She completed her law degree at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.

Valerie chose to become licensed in the State of Maryland and is elated to get acclimated with the State, her community and members of the legal profession. Valerie handles domestic, civil, and criminal matters and has an interest in criminal defense and personal injury. She was a member of the Maryland State Bar Association Leadership Academy Class of 2023-2024. She presently is the Young Lawyer District Representative with the American Bar Association as well as the 2024-2025 ABA solo small firm and general practice division solo.

Valerie was awarded Order of the Barrister, and enjoys research and writing. She chose the law to help people and someday wants to create and implement aversion programs for at-risk youths. Mentoring teenagers and young adults is one of her favorite pastimes. Valerie enjoys singing, cooking, her prayer closet, taking road trips, hosting events, and is an avid sports fanatic. She is the mother to a beautiful daughter named Myjoi, an active member of her church SeaBrook SDA
