About Attorney Desroches
Valerie Desroches is a first-generation Haitian American who was born in Brooklyn, New York. She is the Founder of 199 Legacy Law, LLC, wherein she focuses on Family Law, Criminal Defense and Personal Injury matters. She brings years of litigation experience from Maryland firms and holds a Best Interest Attorney Certification. Attorney Desroches received her B.A. in Political Science and her Master’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science from Wright State University. She obtained her Juris Doctor from Washburn University.
Attorney Desroches is driven by a passion for justice and advocacy; she is committed to empowering her clients and giving back to underserved communities through mentorship and aspires to continue implementing aversion programs for at-risk youths. Through the American Bar Association (ABA), she serves as a Fellow of the Commission on Youth at Risk; in the GPSolo Division she is the Family-Law Committee Co-Chair as well as a member of the 2025-2026 Young Lawyers Leadership Academy.
Outside of work Valerie is a mother, who is an active member at her SDA home church. She enjoys her prayer closet, cooking, taking road trips, hosting events and is an avid sports fanatic.
